The City Guest House; Access Statement
We have two bus stops nearby, each about 200 meters away on either side of us.
York Railway station is 15 minutes by taxi.

We can assist guests with luggage. York City centre is a 230 metre walk from our door.
Main Entrance & Reception
We have two steps from the street to our main entrance. Our front hallway is quite narrow with a minimum width of 70cm (lounge door) with room for a wheel chair. The front door is always kept locked.
Public Areas
The City Guest House has 7 bedrooms.
One is on the ground floor, five are on the first floor and one room is on the second floor (attic), all carpeted. We do not have any bedrooms suitable for wheelchair access due to stairs or size restrictions.
All floors are reached via stairs, the steps are 18cm high, 20cm deep and 72cm wide(front and rear), .
There is no public toilet. All bathrooms are provided within the guest bedrooms with only one standard, or not en-suite room (private facilities).
We have a dining room for a maximum of 15 people. This has restricted space for the less mobile. Breakfast is served in the dining room, which is on the ground floor.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [En suite or Private]
Six bedrooms are en-suite with showers, the top floor is en-suite with bath, no facilities are shared. Most showers have a minimum step into of 15cm. Doors to bedrooms are 75cm wide, 66cm into bathrooms.

Mobile phone reception is generally good
We are able to use the front and back doors in the need of evacuation, the alarm siren sounds a continuous tone on evacuation. If you require more assistance in the event of an alarm please notify us on arrival and we will ensure you are evacuated safely.
Medication or food can be stored in our fridge on request; this is not available 24hours. The nearest pharmacy is inside Monk Bar, 350 metres away.
Local equipment hire company is Shop mobility, which is located in The Piccadilly car park on level 2, about a 15 minute walk. Currently on telephone number 01904 679222; Web site is www.shopmobilityyork.org.uk
